At just a stones throw away from the Medieval village of Salers, you can find the perfect relaxing haven for your stay in the Cantal. Our quirky but revamped home away from home is a very unique place to spend time if you love nature, taking long hikes (or short strolls). Even if you love mountain biking, parasailing, horse riding or fishing... But even the perfect match for those of us looking for a location to just relax and have fun with friends.
It was love at first sight when we found this black pearl in the Cantal. This is the place where we found the best way ever to slow down our hectic pace of every day life and just enjoy the simple things to the fullest. Just what we needed !
Although this location may not be the best choice for small children, the area does have a lot to offer for sporty teens.
We just love spending time here with friends, or just by ourselves, and have only just decided to share this experience with you too.
Our remodelled +250 year old barn will surprise you by the airy living space and open feeling as soon as you walk through the doors!
The quirky elements and gorgeous open ceiling & beamed roof will whisk you back in time to days gone by.
In short what to expect :
- Converted old barn with rustic elements and modernised amenities, keeping the charm but with added necessities.
- 2 double bedrooms + one pull-out bed
- Upstairs Bathroom with bath/WC/Vanity & downstairs Shower and WC.
- Kitchen with utensils, microwave, oven, dishwasher... all you need.
- Outside cooking : BBQ (charcoal) & Pizza oven (pellet fuelled)
- Enjoy gorgeous mountain views from the upper raised decking, fitted with tabel and chairs for al fresco dining
- Garden seating area with lounge chairs and firepit for making those s'mores
- Fenced garden, safe for the fur-family
- Private garden nookie with hot tub to watch the sunset with a glass of wine or bubbles
- Gorgeous fire place that came from nearby Castle with wood burner
- TV with UK satellite reception
- Kind reminder : As it is a very old building, you may from time to time see a spider, these are included in the experience, free of charge. But don't worry there won't be too many (as we have treated the building), but sometimes a free-strolling-passing-by visitor may occur. At the moment we only rent it out in the Summer months as it is not yet isolated and would feel a bit chilly if it is cold outside, BUT we are planning on getting this fixed so we can use it year-round !
And there is so much more ... Visit the medieval village of Salers, enjoy a meal at the Burons with breathtaking views. Or devour a world-renowned Salers-steak ! Climb the Puy Mary or hike along the Puy Violent... only 5 of the many beautiful sights or fun activities to experience nearby.
Well mannered dogs are welcome too !
When booking you can add up to 2 large dogs to your stay. The garden is fenced and has a gate to keep our furry friends in.
The garden can be accessed from the front gate, and from the back raised terrace. There are 2 extra large benches you are free to use and a drinking bowls too. There is always disinfectant spray in the kitchen if a little accident should occur.
We kindly ask you to please treat our holiday home with care and love as we do. We love dogs and find it sad they are not allowed to travel along to many residences. This area is just the perfect place to do beautiful doggy-walks and enjoy nature.
